A simple man's complicated take on sports.

Pujols on Ice

Albert Pujols signed a huge contract with the L.A. Angels because he could hit for power as well as average.  About a month into this season, he’s doing neither, and fans are making some noise. To be fair, he’s had longer stretches to start seasons without hitting a home run, specifically one where he didn’t hit one in his first 105 at-bats.  However, times have changed.  He’s not in the friendly confines of St. Louis, where the pressure is off.  He’s in L.A., smack in the middle of the spotlight.  No home runs, four RBI, and he’s hitting .226 so far. But, he does have seven doubles from his 19 hits, which puts him on pace for a career high 54.  If he winds up doing that and hitting more doubles than home runs, then Angels fans better hope that he hits at key times to launch them into the postseason.  Otherwise, there will be rumblings.

Pujols on Ice sounds entertaining. Much more so than Disney on Ice.
